The 16th EAJS International Conference

In the face of the threat of corona to the participation and health of EAJS members/delegates, the EAJS together with the local organizers in Ghent have decided to postpone the 16th EAJS International Conference, a year.  Below you will find the most important information about the postponement:

  • The conference venue for 2021 remains Ghent University, Belgium; the new date is 25-28 August 2021.
  • The Section convenors have all intimated that they will be available in 2021.
  • All accepted papers & panels from this year’s calls will be carried over to the postponed conference in 2021. All proposers will be informed of the results of their paper and panel submissions, by this Thursday (9th April 2020).
  • If, in light of this postponement, you would like to withdraw your accepted paper or panel, please inform eajs@nomadit.co.uk as soon as possible. If you would like to retract your paper from a pre-organized, accepted panel, please inform botheajs@nomadit.co.uk and your panel organizer as soon as possible.

If you have registered as an EAJS member or renewed your membership this year because of the conference, rest assured that this was not in vain: an EAJS membership is valid for three years, so will also be valid until the end of 2022.

We will keep you informed of any progress and changes regarding the postponement of the conference. We very much hope that many of you will have the opportunity to participate in 2021.

For more information please visit the conference website.

Outstanding scholars from Japan are usually invited as guest speakers and give an overview of recent developments in their special field of interest.
